"A gathering of sensual paintings and sculptures, the Erotic Heritage Museum honors human sexuality in a tasteful, cultured way (unlike the XXX-rated porn palaces so abundant in Vegas!). It isn't the type of museum you find every day, but it's definitely an acknowledgement and celebration of our shared humanity."-10Best.com
"Very well organised, put out, nice to be able to touch and feel, enough history presented to give story but not overdone." - Paula, New York, NY
"[Curator, Dr. Laura Henkel's] drive and passion to save what she deems our erotic heritage is seemingly unrivaled. Whether she’s rescuing items from the trash or explaining to collectors the value of their erotic comic book collections or pornographic videos, Henkel has found her life’s calling. She’s like a roving anthropologist whose mission is to preserve the sexual relics that many deem trash, smut. To her, it’s folk art that makes a statement about who and where we are as a culture. Just as ancient artifacts and paintings belong in a museum, so does the evidence of our sexual proclivities. It’s a lens through which we can see the experiences of others, and ourselves." -Kate Silver, Las Vegas Weekly
"Amazing! Will be buying membership for sure!" - Daniel M., Las Vegas, NV
"I can’t express how happy I am that Las Vegas now has a world-class museum that showcases sex. It will be a pleasure to direct those who are interested to a place that offers responsibly eclectic displays that go far beyond mere titillation. It gives me the feeling that Las Vegas has come of age—reached the point where we can stop denying or giggling and truly appreciate the rich heritage that has lurked too long in the shadows." -Megan Edwards, MeganEdwards.com
"Fantastic. Very good job. Artwork great and thank you for including gay history as well!"- Jeremiah, San Fransico, CA
So who doesn't like sex....certainly not me ! Curiosity still there ? This is probably the best museum in Las Vegas in its presentation, history and educational abilities. I just love museums and historical stories....here it is ! On a rainy Thursday I caught a quick walk through from curator Dr. Laura Henkel...pretty much a treasure herself in her education, her work here and her freedom of expression. This is a work in progress with more to come and several works in progress...like all museums you need to take some time for each exhibit and read the bio info. My visit just a tease for me to come back and take some time for some erotic history and I will. Its right behind the Fashion show Mall. I am planning my next visit....this is highly recommended !
